Gayle Martin

Gayle Martin is our Qualifying Broker and owner of Land of Enchantment, Inc.  Born in 1946, she was raised in Derry, New Mexico where her family had a farm and ranch.  Gayle is not a stranger to hard work and has built the company from the ground up.  In 1973, she decided to get her Real Estate license then became a Qualifying Broker in 1976 to run her own company.  

While selling real estate, Gayle initially began managing residential properties for investors who bought homes through her.  This was the beginning of the property management division.  She has won awards on a personal and company level for her hard work in both real estate and property management. 

Gayle’s mission with Land of Enchantment, Inc. has always been to do the best ethically and morally for all who are involved with her and the company.  She passes this mission on to each employee of Land of Enchantment, Inc. which has gained her the respect of the community she serves. 

Volunteer work: Gayle has volunteered as a Board Member with Southwest MLS.  She also donates to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, March of Dimes and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Karen Martin-McKenzie

Karen is the 2nd generation to work for Land of Enchantment. Karen was born and raised in Albuquerque and grew up around the Real Estate and Property Management industry. She was in telecommunications management for 18 years when she decided to join the family business in 2004. Licensed in 2004 Karen jumped into both Real Estate and Property Management. Karen has pursued her leadership education through Dale Carnegie and UNM Anderson School of Business. She enjoys working with people and growing the family business.

Volunteer work:  Karen has been involved in volunteering in the annual Run for the Zoo.  This event helps the zoo with capital improvements, education and conservation.  She also volunteers for Paws and Stripes.  This organization provides service dogs to veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries at no charge.  They use shelter dogs and work with various rescues to find suitable dogs for the training.  Their slogan is appropriately “Helping Dogs, Helping Heroes”.

Davrie Martin

Davrie is the third generation to work for Land of Enchantment. She has been working in the business since she was 16. Davrie has been instrumental in streamlining various processes in accounting and the property management division. Her position in Accounts Payable includes coding and posting all property invoices, producing tenant statements and owner statements, and going to court for nonpayment of rent issues. Davrie obtained her Real Estate License in 2008 while going to UNM for, and graduating in 2011 w/ her B.A. in Biological Anthropology. Most recently she obtained her Qualifying Broker license and continues to thrive in Real Estate.

Volunteer work:  Davrie has volunteered for Presbyterian hospital in the maternity unit and emergency room.  She has also volunteered for the Run for the Zoo.  This event helps the zoo with capital improvements, education and conservation.

Catherine Martin-McKenzie
Marketing, Operations Manager & Associate Broker

Catherine was raised in Arizona, but has been in New Mexico since 1992. She has a B.A. from the University of New Mexico w/ honors in Social Psychology & Family Studies. She also has a certification in network management from the University of Phoenix. Cathy started with us in 2001 and obtained her Real Estate license in 2006 and her Qualifying Broker License in 2011. With over 10 years experience as the Operations and Marketing Manager for Land of Enchantment, Inc., she focuses on website development and marketing for Real Estate and Property Management. She also provides personnel management, computer support and training.

Alicia Herrera

Alicia joined the LOE team in May of 2013 and has quickly climbed the ladder. She has gained experience in administrative duties, home inspections, and recently transferred over to be one of our Property Managers. She's also licensed in Real Estate and plans on selling and listing homes. Alicia attended CNM then attended the University of New Mexico. She received her training in Real Estate at Kaplan University.

Phyllis Wimberly
Bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable & Associate Broker

Phyllis has been with Land of Enchantment, Inc. since 1999 as the bookkeeper for our Property Management division. Born and raised in Illinois, she attended Joliet Junior College. She obtained her Real Estate License in 2000 allowing her to be involved in selling Real Estate. Phyllis has been instrumental in process development in every aspect of Property Management bookkeeping, court processes for non-payment of rent, accounts receivable, accounts payable, owner statements and processing out security deposits.

Volunteer work:  Phyllis and her family participate in motorcycle runs each year to raise money for the New Mexico Autism Society and Toys for Tots.  They also donate to various charities, such as the Humane Society and Wounded Warriors.

Mary Vassaw

Mary joined our team in 2009 and brought with her over 15 years of experience in the housing industry. The majority of her experience is in home inspections and the plumbing industry. She is one of our Administrative Assistants supporting our property management division. Among many other tasks, Mary processes rental applications, performs our semi-annual inspections, schedules lease renewals and assists customers looking for rental homes.

Jeanie Novick

Jeanie is a native of Albuquerque and has been directly involved in Property management for over 18 years.  She managed a 245 unit condominium complex in Seattle for 4 years while also running a specialty construction business with her husband.  Jeanie attended the University of New Mexico in the 1980's.  She moved back to Albuquerque in 2012 to be closer to family and has continued working in property management.  She is now semi-retired and working part-time as one of our Administrative Assistants.
